Robert F Kennedy Jr Announces Running Mate Nicole Shanahan for 2024 Presidential Campaign

Robert F Kennedy Jr, a long-shot candidate in the 2024 United States presidential race, has announced his running mate as Nicole Shanahan, a California tech-industry lawyer and philanthropist. Kennedy, a member of the prominent Kennedy political dynasty, introduced Shanahan at a rally in Oakland, California, where he praised her as a battle-tested individual who can withstand the challenges of a presidential campaign.

Despite facing criticism for his controversial views, including anti-vaccine misinformation, Kennedy remains a distant challenger in the race, with former President Donald Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden expected to be the main contenders. Critics warn that Kennedy could be a “spoiler candidate,” potentially drawing votes away from the anticipated Biden-Trump rematch.

Shanahan, a political newcomer from the San Francisco Bay Area, has been described as a Democratic donor with experience in artificial intelligence and Silicon Valley. She emphasized her humble upbringing and her commitment to helping those in need, citing her own experiences with financial struggles.

Before being named as Kennedy’s running mate, Shanahan played a key role in shaping the candidate’s messaging, including a controversial campaign advertisement that aired during the Super Bowl. The ad, which recreated a 1960 campaign advertisement for President John F Kennedy, sparked criticism from the Kennedy family for allegedly exploiting the late president’s legacy.

Kennedy’s selection of Shanahan as his vice president is expected to boost fundraising for his campaign as the election approaches. Meanwhile, President Biden and Trump are still finalizing their running mate choices, with speculation swirling around potential candidates from both parties. Trump’s former Vice President, Mike Pence, has publicly distanced himself from Trump, describing him as a threat to the Republican Party.

As the race heats up, all eyes will be on the candidates and their running mates as they vie for the presidency in what promises to be a closely contested election.
